Dry Wall Partition

Partitions for all applications:

Knauf Partitions are non-loadbearing systems comprising Knauf plasterboards screw-fixed to a steel frame made up of Knauf lightweight studs and channels.

The surface of the boards can be taped and jointed to provide a seamless finish or skim plastered to achieve a more traditional finish prior to decoration.

Knauf Partitions offer simple and complete solutions to space division throughout both commercial and residential developments.

PARTITIONS SYSTEMS

Standard Partitions

Knauf Standard Partitions may be specified with confidence for non-loadbearing partitions and use fast drywall construction techniques.

  • For both commercial and domestic partitions.
  • Versatile systems to meet nearly every performance requirement.
  • Minimum amount of components.

These systems can utilise the entire range of boards, including Knauf Wallboard, Knauf Moistureshield, Knauf Soundshield, Knauf Fireshield, Knauf Fire Moistureshield and Knauf Denseshield, depending on the performance required. The boards are fixed onto a lightweight metal framework of Knauf ‘C’ Studs, Knauf ‘I’ Studs and Knauf ‘U’ Channels.

Knauf ‘C’ Stud Partitions provide the simplest and most economical system, whilst Knauf ‘I’ Stud Partitions should be used where a more rigid partition is required without increasing the overall thickness.

All the ‘U’ Channels, fixing channels and other components noted on this page are designed for use with both ‘C’ and ‘I’ Stud partitions.

Vertical service runs are easily accommodated within the metal framework.

The tapered edge boards can be taped and jointed using Knauf Jointing Compounds and Accessories. Alternatively, a 2 to 5mm skim coat of Knauf Multicover or Knauf Universal Board Finish can be applied to square edge boards to achieve a more traditional finish.

High Performance Twin Frame

Knauf Twin Frame non-loadbearing partitions provide exceptional sound reduction properties using fast drywall construction techniques.

Mainly used in the commercial sector (Eg. Cinemas, auditoria and separating walls in apartments).

For very high sound reduction values
For very high fire resistance values
This system utilises Knauf Plank as the first layer.

The subsequent layers can be from a wide range of boards: Knauf Wallboard, Knauf Moistureshield, Knauf Soundshield, Knauf Vapourshield, Knauf Fireshield, Knauf Fire Moistureshield and Knauf Denseshield, depending on the performance required. The boards are fixed onto two lightweight metal frameworks of Knauf ‘C’ Studs and Knauf ‘U’ Channels. The twin frame construction significantly reduces sound transmission.

Vertical service runs are easily accommodated within the metal framework.

The tapered edge boards can be taped and jointed using Knauf Jointing Compound and Accessories. Alternatively, a 2 to 5mm skim coat of Knauf MultiCover, or Knauf Universal Board Finish can be applied to achieve a more traditional plaster finish.

Staggered Stud

Knauf Staggered Stud is a non-loadbearing partition using fast drywall construction techniques. Mainly specified where floorspace is at a premium and there is a requirement for a partition to provide a high level of sound reduction, coupled with a low overall width.

  • High sound reduction values
  • Low overall width
  • High fire resistance values

This system can utilise a range of Knauf Plasterboards. For kitchens and bathrooms, a Knauf moisture resistant board should be used as the outer layer. The boards are fixed onto a lightweight metal framework of Knauf ‘I’ Studs and Knauf ‘U’ Channels. The Staggered Stud System significantly reduces direct sound transmission.

Vertical service runs are easily accommodated within the metal framework. A sacrificial layer can be added to accommodate services without affecting the sound performance.

The tapered edge boards can be taped and jointed using Knauf Jointing Compounds and Accessories. Alternatively, a 2 to 5mm coat of Knauf MultiCover, or Knauf Universal Board Finish, can be applied to achieve a more traditional plaster finish.

Separating Wall:

Knauf Separating Wall is a non-loadbearing partition using fast drywall construction techniques. Mainly specified for either separating one dwelling from another or separating a dwelling from a communal hallway or corridor, due to its high sound performance.

  • Specifically designed to separate one dwelling from another.
  • High sound reduction values.
  • High fire resistance values.

This system utilises either a double layer of Knauf Soundshield, or a combination of Knauf Plank and Knauf Soundshield to achieve optimum acoustic performance. For kitchens and bathrooms, Knauf Sound Moistureshield should be used as the outer layer. The boards are fixed onto two lightweight metal frameworks of Knauf ‘C’ Studs and Knauf ‘U’ Channels. The twin frame significantly reduces direct sound transmission.

Vertical service runs are easily accommodated within the metal framework. A sacrificial layer can be added in order to accommodate services without affecting the sound performance.

The tapered edge boards can be taped and jointed using Knauf Jointing Compounds and Accessories. Alternatively, a 2 to 5mm coat of Knauf MultiCover or Knauf Universal Board Finish can be applied to achieve a more traditional plaster finish.
